The Reformist view in the republican party is articulated most fully by books, such as “Comeback” by David Frum and “Grand New Party” by Ross Douthat and Reihan Salam, as well as the various writings of people like Ramesh Ponnuru, Yuval Levin, Jim Manzi, Rod Dreher, Peggy Noonan, and David Brooks.
The Traditionalist view is promoted by guess whom? Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, Grover Norquist (Americans for Tax Reform), Leonard Leo (Federalist Society) and Tony Perkins (Family Research Council).
If GOP hopes to ever regain lost political territory, it must support a reform within the party. The traditionalist camp will only keep the conservative movement from becoming again a force on the American political stage.
